Pupils (male or female) must not wear excessive make-up to school. This is unnecessary to their learning and inappropriate in the school situation.
If a pupil needs to take prescribed medicine during the school day it must be taken to the school office for safe keeping, in the original container and with the original label which must clearly state the pupil’s name and the dosage and the time it is to be taken. On no account must pupils carry medicines with them around the school. Parents need to sign a consent form to allow staff to give the medicine to the pupil (you can get these forms at the school office). It is important that parents tell the school about any course of medication which could affect a pupil’s attention, behaviour or learning ability. This information can be given in a note to the child's Guidance teacher. All such information will be treated in strictest confidence.
If medicine needs to be given on a regular and ongoing basis, the pupil needs to have a Health Care Plan drawn up by the School Nurse.

Neither pupils nor members of staff can be brought to the phone to speak to parents or other callers, as this would disrupt the work of the school. Only vitally important messages will be taken for passing on to the person concerned. “Ask John to get a pint of milk and a loaf on the way home” would not be classed as a vitally important message, even if there is no milk in the fridge at the time. Messages for members of staff (in connection with school business only) will be passed on via staff mailboxes.
Mobile phones may be brought to school but must be switched off except at intervals and lunchtimes. Please note that “switched off” means that the phone must be completely switched off. It is not sufficient to have it on a silent or vibrate setting.
Using a mobile phone in class disrupts lessons. It also shows that the pupil using it is not paying attention.
Using mobile phones during class times, whether for voice or text messages, or sending offensive or threatening text messages at any time, will therefore result in confiscation and other disciplinary action.
Some types of mobile phone are able to take digital photographs. These must NOT be used in school, as to do so is an invasion of privacy.
